The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 765 offenses for the week of March 31 to April 6, 2025, up 5% from the 4-week average of 730 and up 1% from the same week a year earlier (758).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): other theft, 108 against a 4-week average of 93.5.

Thursday had the most offenses (122). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (251).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 58 (down 9% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 96 (up 6%).
