The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 774 offenses for the week of March 24-30, 2025, up 6% from the 4-week average of 729 and up 11% from the same week a year earlier (696).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): property damage / vandalism, 157 against a 4-week average of 114.3; drug offenses, 36 against a 4-week average of 22.5.

Friday had the most offenses (128). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (258).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 85 (up 55% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 82 (down 17%).
