The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 722 offenses for the week of March 17-23, 2025, flat from the 4-week average of 725 and up 5% from the same week a year earlier (686).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): sex offenses, 25 against a 4-week average of 11.5.

Saturday had the most offenses (127). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (223).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 44 (down 24% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 89 (down 18%).
