The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 911 offenses for the week of April 22-28, 2024, up 16% from the 4-week average of 789 and flat from the same week a year earlier (911).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): property damage / vandalism, 184 against a 4-week average of 132; theft from motor vehicle, 105 against a 4-week average of 60.5.

Monday had the most offenses (145). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (271).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 105 (up 74% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 132 (up 12%).
