The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 811 offenses for the week of February 9-15, 2026, up 4% from the 4-week average of 782 and up 19% from the same week a year earlier (679).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): weapon law violations, 29 against a 4-week average of 13.8.

Friday had the most offenses (131). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (245).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 59 (down 16% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 139 (down 1%).
