The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 860 offenses for the week of May 12-18, 2025, up 7% from the 4-week average of 806 and down 5% from the same week a year earlier (909).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): other theft, 128 against a 4-week average of 105.8; intimidation, 66 against a 4-week average of 46; robbery, 28 against a 4-week average of 15.8.

Wednesday had the most offenses (151). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (251).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 71 (down 7% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 96 (up 12%).
