The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 816 offenses for the week of February 19-25, 2024, down 1% from the 4-week average of 826 and up 20% from the same week a year earlier (683).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): drug offenses, 29 against a 4-week average of 16.5.

Saturday had the most offenses (147). The busiest part of the day was morning (6 a.m.-noon) (241).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 53 (down 18% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 107 (down 12%).
