The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 934 offenses for the week of November 6-12, 2023, up 2% from the 4-week average of 915 and up 13% from the same week a year earlier (825).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): aggravated assault, 75 against a 4-week average of 50; weapon law violations, 37 against a 4-week average of 22.

Sunday had the most offenses (160). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (290).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 88 (up 1% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 102 (down 26%).
