The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 968 offenses for the week of June 26 to July 2, 2023, up 4% from the 4-week average of 932 and down 13% from the same week a year earlier (1,112).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): drug offenses, 47 against a 4-week average of 26.5; intimidation, 67 against a 4-week average of 49.3.

Saturday had the most offenses (160). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (305).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 69 (down 4% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 110 (down 10%).
