The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 936 offenses for the week of June 5-11, 2023, down 4% from the 4-week average of 970 and down 3% from the same week a year earlier (965).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): weapon law violations, 46 against a 4-week average of 31.8.

Wednesday had the most offenses (161). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (295).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 69 (flat from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 111 (down 25%).
