The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 939 offenses for the week of May 29 to June 4, 2023, down 5% from the 4-week average of 986 and flat from the same week a year earlier (944).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): other theft, 130 against a 4-week average of 103.3; intimidation, 63 against a 4-week average of 47.3; fraud, 48 against a 4-week average of 34.8.

Thursday had the most offenses (151). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (297).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 66 (down 12% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 126 (down 23%).
