The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 3,894 offenses in June 2026, down 9% from May 2026 (4,295) and down 0% from June 2025 (3,911).

The largest increase from a year earlier was vehicle parts theft (129 against 79, up 63%), and the largest decrease was theft from motor vehicle (374 against 449, down 17%).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 374 (down 17% from a year earlier); motor vehicle theft was 377 (up 2%).

MPD recorded 5 homicide offenses in June 2026, against 6 in June 2025.

By neighborhood, compared with June 2025, offenses were up the most: Marcy Holmes (89 to 143), Midtown Phillips (60 to 94), Downtown West (225 to 257); down the most: Loring Park (178 to 105), Northrop (53 to 21), Seward (92 to 64).
