The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 3,226 offenses in December 2025, down 10% from November 2025 (3,584) and down 8% from December 2024 (3,510).

The largest increase from a year earlier was intimidation (268 against 169, up 59%), and the largest decrease was motor vehicle theft (339 against 447, down 24%).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 258 (down 13% from a year earlier); motor vehicle theft was 339 (down 24%).

MPD recorded 6 homicide offenses in December 2025, against 8 in December 2024.

By neighborhood, compared with December 2024, offenses were up the most: Loring Park (69 to 94), North Loop (71 to 96), Marcy Holmes (74 to 97); down the most: Central (87 to 41), Folwell (81 to 54), Jordan (132 to 106).
