The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 3,616 offenses in November 2021, down 4% from October 2021 (3,787) and up 6% from November 2020 (3,413).

The largest increase from a year earlier was other theft (534 against 382, up 40%), and the largest decrease was burglary (218 against 330, down 34%).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 299 (down 15% from a year earlier); motor vehicle theft was 375 (up 11%).

MPD recorded 7 homicide offenses in November 2021, against 9 in November 2020.

By neighborhood, compared with November 2020, offenses were up the most: Whittier (148 to 199), North Loop (58 to 104), Lowry Hill East (103 to 143); down the most: Ventura Village (101 to 68), Willard - Hay (105 to 77), Minnehaha (33 to 11).
