The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 943 offenses for the week of July 13-19, 2026, up 3% from the 4-week average of 919 and down 17% from the same week a year earlier (1,140).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): shoplifting, 27 against a 4-week average of 16.8.

Monday had the most offenses (152). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (270).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 79 (flat from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 95 (up 6%).
