The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 1,140 offenses for the week of July 14-20, 2025, up 24% from the 4-week average of 918 and up 14% from the same week a year earlier (997).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): property damage / vandalism, 367 against a 4-week average of 152.8; other theft, 164 against a 4-week average of 122.3.

Tuesday had the most offenses (212). The busiest part of the day was evening (6 p.m.-midnight) (367).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 105 (up 1% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 95 (up 2%).
