The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 1,048 offenses for the week of June 16-22, 2025, up 17% from the 4-week average of 898 and up 15% from the same week a year earlier (908).
Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): property damage / vandalism, 192 against a 4-week average of 145.8; burglary, 78 against a 4-week average of 41.5; theft from motor vehicle, 112 against a 4-week average of 93.
Tuesday had the most offenses (161). The busiest part of the day was evening (6 p.m.-midnight) (309).
Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 112 (up 20% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 100 (up 14%).
