The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 786 offenses for the week of January 6-12, 2025, up 5% from the 4-week average of 746 and up 12% from the same week a year earlier (701).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): intimidation, 64 against a 4-week average of 36.5.

Wednesday had the most offenses (148). The busiest part of the day was morning (6 a.m.-noon) (242).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 89 (up 38% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 92 (up 4%).
