The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 1,015 offenses for the week of July 8-14, 2024, up 6% from the 4-week average of 959 and down 3% from the same week a year earlier (1,044).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): intimidation, 59 against a 4-week average of 42.3.

Monday had the most offenses (171). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (333).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 87 (down 8% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 137 (up 4%).
