The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 908 offenses for the week of June 17-23, 2024, down 6% from the 4-week average of 962 and down 7% from the same week a year earlier (973).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): other theft, 152 against a 4-week average of 127.5; other offenses, 26 against a 4-week average of 18.3.

Saturday had the most offenses (154). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (286).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 94 (flat from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 110 (down 19%).
