The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 912 offenses for the week of February 27 to March 5, 2023, up 13% from the 4-week average of 807 and up 18% from the same week a year earlier (775).

Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): property damage / vandalism, 135 against a 4-week average of 101.8; fraud, 49 against a 4-week average of 26.3; drug offenses, 37 against a 4-week average of 24.5.

Wednesday had the most offenses (146). The busiest part of the day was morning (6 a.m.-noon) (293).

Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 72 (up 47% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 202 (flat).
