The Minneapolis Police Department recorded 828 offenses for the week of June 21-27, 2021, down 3% from the 4-week average of 850 and flat from the same week a year earlier (827).
Above their recent range (more than two standard deviations over the prior eight weeks): fraud, 45 against a 4-week average of 39.
Thursday had the most offenses (138). The busiest part of the day was afternoon (noon-6 p.m.) (250).
Theft from motor vehicle, the category that covers car break-ins, was 73 (up 16% from the 4-week average); motor vehicle theft was 81 (down 9%).
